PORTFOLIO: PROJECTS

The ability to manage golf course improvement projects is an important role of the superintendent. The golf course is an ever-changing environment and requires constant review and adjustment to maintain proper conditions.

I have had the opportunity to be associated with master-plan renovations, several large scale renovations, and many smaller in-house projects as well. My wide range of experience in course construction gives me the confidence required to lead a club through any project they wish to complete successfully. Below are a few examples of my work.

MASTER PLAN CONSTRUCTION

SILVER SPRING COUNTRY CLUB

In 2015, I was involved in the on-going Master plan at Silver Spring Country Club,  where we collaborated with Rulewich & Fleury Golf Design and McDonald and Sons Construction company to make improvements on Holes  #4, 5, 6 and 7.

This project featured creating 23,000 sq ft of new bunker construction, the addition of 15,000 sq ft of new tees, 40,000 sq ft of fairway expansion and a total of 340,000 sq ft of new sod was laid over the construction sites.

GOLF FEATURES CONSTRUCTION

TRUMP NATIONAL DC

Played an integral role in establishing the Championship Course renovation by Tommy Fazio II.  This project featured the construction of 20 USGA specification sand-based greens, 7 holes of new tees + Better Billy- Method bunkers, and the complete re-design of two holes. The Championship Course was then rated a top 3 new course (Golf Digest 2016) following this project.

Worked with both LeBar Golf Construction and Superior Golf Concepts on golf feature construction such as the renovating of our driving landing area, relocating and rebuilding a 40,000 sq ft driving range tee, as well as creating and expanding new tee boxes on Championship Course.

DRAINAGE INSTALLATION

TRUMP NATIONAL DC

Every offseason we aim to add at least 3000 linear feet of drainage , in house, to poorly drained areas of fairways or rough.  Our winter-drainage projects have successfully improved  playability and plant health in previously soft and problematic fairway areas.
